ABOUT

About Miwa Associates LLC

With extensive business management experience and with personal network and connections both in the US and Japan, we are confident to help business owners and investors to achieve their goals.

Born and raised in Nagoya, Japan, I always dreamed of becoming a pilot. After high school, I pursued that dream by moving to the United States, the world’s leading aviation hub. I began my studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, where I earned my private pilot license. However, my passion gradually shifted from flying to aircraft design, leading me to complete a degree in aeronautical engineering before pursuing a graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering at MIT. After earning my master’s degree from MIT in 1981, I spent several months in Tokyo before relocating to the New York metro area. There, I became involved in numerous startups and company management roles across a diverse range of industries, including computer equipment distribution, optoelectronics and vision system importation, tuna fishing boat operations, plastic injection mold manufacturing, cattle ranching, real estate investment and sales, online book reading services, jet charter and air ambulance services, and composite decking manufacturing. I also served as Chairman of a NASDAQ-listed company and even took one company public, though it ultimately did not succeed. Many of these ventures focused on fostering business relations between the U.S. and Japan. In late 2011, I relocated to Hawaii and became actively engaged in the local community. I served as Chairman of the Japan-America Society of Hawaii for three years and as Chairman of the Pacific Air Forces Civilian Advisory Council for another three years. One of my most memorable experiences came in 2016 when the Consul General of Japan asked me to organize a major event at the Hawaii Convention Center, bringing together over 1,000 Japanese American attendees for Japanese Prime Minister Abe’s visit to Hawaii, where he met with President Obama.

METHODOLOGY

What we observe

DealLedger publishes what is publicly displayed. Broker records aggregate every observed listing tied to this firm across our sources. Counts above reflect distinct listings observed, not closed transactions confirmed by the broker.

We do not have direct visibility into which listings sold. When a listing stops appearing in our scrapes, we mark it as no longer observed — but we do not claim it sold. Some close; some withdraw; some are re-listed under a new ID; some are simply missed by our scraper. We surface the observation; you draw the conclusion.
